When the Sun Stopped

Long, long ago, Fineal Whiteheart, mage of Sabat, in a well-meaning attempt, influenced Dath Amon, Hierarch of Tavat Mien, to fall in love with the Liar's Wife, then ruler of Hviveros. In this he was successful, though whatever plans he made beyond that were for naught.

The two journeyed to Tzalmir, where the High King made them welcome, and the High Priestess of Nirian joined them in marriage. It is said that the sun stopped for an hour at noon to watch the ceremony.

The couple's marriage lasted for all of three days, until their first argument. What was said is no longer known, but all the grass within a hundred paces of the pair turned brown and died. Then Amon and his wife wasted no time in journeying to Sabat and slaying the hapless Whiteheart, travelling to Ceczo and slaying Lile di Mesa, a woman said to the the Red Warrior's lover (who plays no other part in the story, as far as anyone ever found out), and then climbing to the top of the Blue Tower and jumping into the Endless Sea.
