Derrick Kong has been involved with performance roles since an early age. He started as a child actor in local productions in the late 70's and mid-80's and by the late 80's had branched out into directing and production. He continued acting in a string of larger productions starting with Borderlands or How Much for Just the Planet? (1988) through Yendi Rising (1997), although he began concentrating on producing and directing his own works later in that period. After directing a string of small productions, Kong produced the Kulthea (1992-1993) series, a highly regarded work with a small, but loyal fan base. After this success, he undertook a multi-year project to revamp Kulthea with a new series (2001-present) that is still running. He was lured back in front of the camera for Oath by the producers and is enjoying the change of pace.
