Purpose: This little bit of dust does not have a purpose. You get a faint echo of something; maybe the dust nebula as a whole has a purpose, maybe the dust was part of something that used to have a purpose, it's too faint to tell.

Compostion: It's not uniform; there are small organics and various minerals, some common, some you're not familiar with.
