INDUSTRIAL CONSORTIUM ADVISORY BOARD
Under
an academic paradigm set forth by the National Science Foundation for
National Engineering Research Centers, BPEC exists as a partnership
with industry. Regular two-way information flow ensures that the research
is relevant to industry's needs, that our graduates receive state-of-the-art
training, and that industry is made aware of breakthrough results
as quickly as possible. Technology transfer is facilitated not only
through frequent communication, but also through visiting scientist
sabbaticals at MIT and student internships at our industrial partners.
We
have selected an elite group of scientific leaders from industry to
serve as Member Representatives on our Industrial Consortium Advisory
Board (ICAB) in Therapeutic Gene Biotechnology. ICAB Member Representatives
review our research progress, point out our strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats, and help set research strategy and
focus areas. Member organizations that join ICAB may have up to three
Representatives participate on the Board.
