Participation in Education
Since biotechnology is a cross-disciplinary field, traditional educational programs do not fully meet the needs of students preparing for industry. We seek input from our industrial partners in planning and executing our teaching programs. Member Representatives may also at appropriate times give seminars or offer class lectures on relevant topics from their expertise with special emphasis on potential areas for collaboration.

In summary, ICAB Member Representatives help bring to bear the full expertise, insight, and creativity of their peers, BPEC faculty, and BPEC students, to formulate novel, multidisciplinary, and fundamental approaches to the major, long-term challenges in the gene therapy field.

Membership Commitment and Fees
From our ICAB Member Representative, we require a commitment to attend our annual board meeting, consideration of other partnership opportunities with us, and a small membership fee at stratified levels according to company size. (Note: the company is referred to as the Member; the participant is referred to as the Member Representative.)

The annual fees are as follows:

Less than 100 employees: $2,000 / year
Between 100 to 499 employees: $5,000 / year
Between 500 to 999 employees: $10,000 / year
Greater than 1000 employees: $20,000 / year

The membership fees are used to partially offset the cost of programs throughout BPEC, including workshops, financial aid to students, new equipment purchases, and administration.

Company divisions may qualify for membership and have their fee waived if the following terms are met: the parent company must be a TGB ICAB member in good standing; the division's employees number fewer than 100; and a separate membership agreement is signed under the company's division name.
