An Introduction to the MIT Black Students' Union

The Black Students' Union is an organization dedicated to the continued improvement of the welfare of black students at MIT. We plan events that provide cultural enlightenment and minority support on the MIT campus. We host study breaks, dinners, BBQs, movie/game nights, holiday celebrations, basketball competitions, community service events, group outings around the Boston area, MIT alumni guest speakers, lecture series, Cultural Shows, Campus Preview Weekend events, BSU Week, and freshmen four-year planning sessions among many other events on and off the MIT campus. Our traditional programs as well as new ones were proposed by past and present members.

The BSU also promotes social interactions between faculty, alumni, and students both undergraduate and graduate. We work closely with organizations (links on the left) such as the Office for Minority Education and Black Alumni/ae of MIT to help foster these mentorships.

Please use this website to find out more about our organization.
