Matt
DeJong is a PhD student in Building
Technology. He completed his undergraduate studies in the Department
of Civil Engineering at the University of California, Davis
before working for 3 years as a Structural Engineer in Sacramento,
CA. Before starting the PhD program in Building Technology,
he received his S.M. in Structures and Materials here at MIT,
where he researched the nanoscale effects of high temperature
exposure on cement. His current research involves the analysis
of unreinforced masonry structures subjected to earthquake
loading. Matt is also a member of the MIT Graduate Soccer Team
and enjoys camping, running, and Red Sox games in his spare
time.
