Lisa
Engblom is a Master's student in the Mechanical Engineering
program. She received a BS in mechanical engineering from Tufts
University in 2004 where she was the recipient of the Victor
Prather Class of 1947 Award for Excellence in Research and the
Lloyd Macgregor Trefethen Award for Research in Mechanical Engineering.
Her previous work includes research on the solidification of
under-cooled metals at Tufts University and work on the development
of safety standards for Hydrogen vehicles for the Department
of Transportation. Her
current research with the Building Technology department is part
of the TRANSES (Alternatives for the Transition to Sustainable
Energy Services in Northern Europe) program in conjunction with
NTNU and SINTEF Energy. She is focusing on evaluating the
relative benefits of retrofitting and replacing existing buildings
to create a more energy efficient stock.
