Harn Wei Kua
Harn
Wei Kua is a PhD student in Building Technology Program. He has a
Master
of Science in Theoretical Physics (for a study on the structure of
hadrons)
from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a dual Master
of Science
in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Technology & Policy
Program from MIT.
Before
coming to MIT, he worked for a year as an instructor in NUS and several
years as a freelance fitness trainer. His research in BT focuses on
studying
the associated effects of sustainable building material policy. His
current
work, supervised by Prof. John Fernandez, Prof. John Ochsendorf and
Prof.
Nicholas Ashford (of TPP), is composed of a number of case studies
taken from
around the world. In his free time, he is developing a philosophical
model on
weak-constraining time travel and the novel concept of asymmetrical
oscillation
of casual flow using perturbation theory of 4-D spacetime in regions
with null
Ricci tensor but non-zero Weyl tensor. His other academic/research
interests
include curriculum-development and the biomechanics of triathlon.
