Shower night was held on a Sunday this year. That night
13 freshman, several upperclassmen, and the GRT were showered.
Three freshman escaped: one due to request, and the other two
because they were hiding. Of the two that still needed to be
showered, one was showered two nights later on a sabotage mission.
The other was showered the Sunday night that followed on another
sabotage mission, thanks to the help of Minnie. Shower night was
completed in a week.
On the Columbus Day weekend, Burton 4 went on a floor trip
to Acadia National Park in Maine. Fourteen people went but there
was only a reservation for 12. Two people were hidden under blankets
for about 5 minutes during registration.
2000-2001 School Year
If you've ever cooked chicken nuggets, you'd know to remove them from the foam before cooking.
Well, a certain 4 Player actually cooked chicken nuggets, while still on the foam, in the oven. Luckily,
he didn't know he had to preheat the oven. Evidence lies in da-mee-guel's room and DR G has the story.
Did you know Burton 4 Players can be interpreted in several ways? Here are some of them: We are
sports players; We are actors; We have several relationships with men/women (depending on the invidual's
gender); we love to have "4 Play"; etc.
The structure of our suite system and hallways allows people to play certain sports and have
great races. These are some of the silly events that can possibly occur along the hallways:
Races in slow motion (this is called "The Chariots of Fire"); throwing the trash away while running
and screaming "Trash!!"; races with roller chairs; a chase where one individual is running away from
a person who is rolling on the ground (this can be called "Indiana Jones"); raquetball; and some type
of handball.
Burton 4 usually holds a Senior Dinner for the graduating seniors. This year, Senior Dinner
was a early dinner/late lunch picnic at a park. What a way to say "Goodbye." The event was held at the
Hatshell on the Esplanade. The picture on the front page of the site was taken there.
Two freshman wrestled near the elevator one night. After a good five minutes, the match ended as
both contenders gave up at the same time.
One night, there was white powder all over the floors in Burton 4. Some maintenance people believe
that it was a tribal ceremony. In reality, during a study break, a tasty treat was served with powdered
sugar. People had this substance all over their faces, hair, clothes, and the floor. It was a great
night.
Did you know our showers are big enough to hold a matress? Don't believe this? Try it yourself.
A freshman had his birthday on the second day of classes. It is tradition to be showered by friends.
Well, this freshman wasn't showered. Everybody was too busy
beginning the new school year. A month and four days later, the freshman is showered after another
freshman was showered for her birthday.
The Trinidad party fought for their rights in representation. The floor lounge this year had a map
of the US and they fought for a map of Trinidad. As it turns out there's a town called trinidad in
southern Colorado which is marked on the map in our floor lounge so no need for an additional map.
A quick mapquest search reveals that there are also trinidads in california, texas, washington state,
and district of columbia so there's probably one for each of the trinidadians on
our floor. So there really wasn't a need for a big fuss. This fact information was provided
thanks to the help of Shane Swenson
