The Hobby Shop is a fully equipped wood and metal shop open to the whole MIT community. The professional staff offers instruction, advice, and classes for members.

The mission of the shop is to provide an opportunity for members to design and build objects of utility and art in a relaxed atmosphere. Novices are welcome.

The Hobby Shop is a division of the Campus Activities Complex office and is overseen by the Committee on the Hobby Shop, which is appointed by the President. The Committee includes students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Look inside to find information on facilities, how to join, classes and pictures of projects.
