The Game Room W20 - First Floor The Game Room, located on the first floor of the Student Center next to LaVerde’s, has something for everyone, with air hockey, pool, driving games, dancing and more. Here, members of the MIT Community can relax and unwind. Games run on tokens, so no need for quarters! The Game Room is famous on campus for “Dance Dance Revolution” the dance-like-you’ve-never-danced-before machine, featuring dance hits with footprint patterns and speeds that will keep you on your toes! |
Moran Lounge Located in the center of the fifth floor of the Student Center, this lounge is often used by groups and individuals for both social and academic purposes such as study breaks, study groups, eating and gathering. It is an open space, in between the CAC office and the SLP office and features large coffee tables, comfortable chairs, vending machines, and artwork from the Student Art Association. |

Reading Room The newly renovated Reading Room is a favorite location on campus for evening and exam studies. The room, traditionally used for quiet study, is divided into three sections: a small lounge at the entrance, a quiet area with individual study carols, and a cluster of meeting rooms featuring white boards and audio visual technology. The Reading Room is open 24 hours a day when the Student Center is open.
|
Stratton Lounge The Stratton Lounge, often called the “Airport” Lounge by students, is conveniently located on the second floor of the Student Center. Overlooking the historic MIT Chapel and Kresge Auditorium, the lounge provides several couches, chairs, tables and a TV equipped with MIT Cable. This is a great spot to meet up with friends, catch your favorite TV show, or find a secluded spot to eat lunch or read a book. |

Wiesner Student Art Gallery The Jerome B. Wiesner Student Art Gallery was established as a gift from the Class of 1983. The Gallery honors the former president of MIT, Jerome Wiesner, for his involvement in and support of the arts at the Institute. The Gallery was established as a place for students to express and exhibit their artistic endeavors, both academic and co-curricular. The artwork display system and raised platform provide a flexible space that will accommodate a diverse range of creative works from the fields of photography, painting, sketching, drawing, calligraphy, glassblowing, ceramics, sculpture, music, dance and drama. Additionally, the Gallery serves as a major exhibit space for student artists who are supported by the Grants Program of the Council for the Arts at MIT. |
