Personal Portfolio Manager (PPM)

Browse Daily Chart screen

You can use Personal Portfolio Manager (PPM) to keep track of a personal portfolio of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. No actual security purchases or sales result from using PPM. Your portfolio can be purely imaginary or represent one that actually exists.

The stocks and bonds you can track with PPM are those available on the New York, NASDAQ, and American stock exchanges. The stock listings include mutual funds.

PPM gets its data on prices and dividend announcements from tapes that are loaded into MIT's investment system each weekend. The prices on the tapes reflect the market close on Friday.

To learn about PPM, you can try it for yourself (since no disagreeable consequences can result). Alternatively, "CAO Application Appendixes" (September 1993) contains a chapter on PPM.
