We have reciprocal agreements with Harvard University, Office of Career Services and Welsley College Center for Work and Service. Harvard and Welsley offer limited services to MIT students.
The Science and Engineering Business Club offers a variety of events that may be relevant for graduate students interested in business.
Tech Link - A joint venture between the Sloan Senate and MIT Graduate Student Council. Tech Link sponsors many career-related (such as the Technology and Business Lecture Series) and social events for personal and professional development including MIT and industrial lab tours.
ICAN - The Institute Career Assistance Network is managed by the MIT Alumni Office and can match you up with alumni/ae mentors in your area of interest. You also have access to main alumni directory which has over 70,000 alumni.
The Externship Program sponsored by the Alumni Office during IAP allows graduate students to "shadow" alumni in various career fields.
The Writing Center offers advice on written and oral presentations, and more. The Writing Center has an online Mayfield Handbook of Technical and Scientific Writing, which is very comprehensive and has a section devoted to problems which non-native English speakers may encounter in their writing.
The Teaching and Learning Laboratory offers a variety of programs including courses to improve the teaching skills of MIT doctoral students in preparation for academic careers.
Science's Next Wave is one of the premiere web resources for exploring career options, including advice on Career Transitions (career options for scientists), Job Hunting (industry and alternative careers) and Academic Career Advice (for postdocs and junior faculty).
For those wishing to go abroad at MIT, consider the Cambridge- MIT Institute (CMI) which is a strategic alliance between University of Cambridge in England and MIT.
