How to Approach a Company

It is a big turnoff to employers for students to grab for the giveaway items (candy, toys). Even though these items are on display, talking with company representatives should be your main objective. Many companies send representatives who are MIT alumni, now employed by the company. You can learn a lot by talking to these folks. And if the representative you meet is from Human Resources, or an area of the company that is not the one where you're interested in, he or she may be able to help you connect with the right contact.
