How to Work a Career Fair

Your Strategy for Navigating the Fair

Student organizations that sponsor Career Fairs often publish a list of the companies who will be present at the Fair. Check the web site of the sponsoring organization and try to find out in advance which companies are coming. Read about the companies on their web sites, to identify any which are of particular interest.

When you enter the Fair you can obtain a map showing where the company booths are located. You may want to stroll around, get literature or view the multimedia exhibits some companies display before you approach specific companies. Of course you should modify this approach depending on how crowded the Fair is, and how much time you can spend there.
