I completed my PhD in Operations Research
from MIT in June 2006. My adviser was Andreas Schulz from the Sloan School of Management.
I am now employed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, in the Systems and Decision Sciences section within the Engineering directorate. I work in the fields of optimization and probabilistic modeling, in support of projects in counterterrorism and stockpile stewardship. My PhD thesis was primarily in the areas of network and combinatorial optimization. In graduate school, I was supported for three years by the Army Research Office through a National Defense Science and Engineering (NDSEG) Fellowship. Before coming to MIT, I studied Mathematics at Pomona College in Southern California. Some claim that Pomona is one of the happiest places on earth. I am originally from the city of Fremont in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fremont is a very diverse and interesting place to grow up. I now live in the town of Livermore, just 40 minutes away. Both towns are surrounded by abundant natural beauty and have fantastic hiking. For something on the silly side, check out my Urban OR collage. Picture locations are described here. |
