Wellington
We continued southeast from Turangi to Wellington, the country's capital and cultural center. We learned about New Zealand history at several fantastic museums, including the immense Te Papa national museum and the smaller Museum of Wellington City and Sea. It was just as well that there were many things to do indoors, as this was the only place on our trip that had bad weather. We also enjoyed touring the tiny New Zealand Parliament and visiting a nearby wildlife sanctuary.
