June 25, 2001 - Cambridge, MA The MIT Rocket Team has taken delivery of its newly-machined, second generation engine and is proceeding with characterization of the engine in lab before proceeding to the hot-fire tests at the Team facility in New Hampshire. Based on lessons learned from the first generation engine, development and testing are proceeding more rapidly than last time. The date of the first hot-fire test is unknown at present. Technical difficulties have pushed testing back beyond June; availability of the test facility is also restricted for the remainder of the summer and will strongly influence when the Team can go up to NH to test. Check back on this page for more information in the coming weeks! |
