New engine (v3) in lab and being tested

February 11, 2002 - Cambridge, MA

 The MIT Rocket Team has received its new engine from the machinists and is starting the engine assembly process immediately. The engine will be broken in and tested throughout February and March, with the goal of going up to the team's rocket engine test facility in Thornton, NH at the end of March.

 In other news, work is progressing on the design of our full-surround video flight package, as well as the high-power model rocket which will be used to flight test the video package. These members are developing test rockets to gain flight experience and to test payloads and staging mechanisms.
