I joined the Political Science faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Fall 2012. My primary but not exclusive research interest is American politics, often from a historical perspective. My dissertation focuses on Congress, public opinion, and representation in the U.S. South between the 1930s and 1960s. In my spare time I like to sing and play the cello (among other things).
