  • CBI's collaborative model invites experts from industry, government and academia together to create and sustain a unique Safe Haven environment, where they can share ideas, conduct research and educate for action.
  • We challenge existing assumptions about the pre-competitive space, working to understand where the benefits of information sharing in the evolving industry outweigh the competitive risks.
  • Our research success metrics focus on real world implementation across the entire innovation chain, resulting in transformation of the system.

Welcome

The mission of the Center for Biomedical Innovation (CBI) is to improve patient care worldwide by sustaining a safe haven where experts in academia, government and industry work together to develop and implement solutions to real world healthcare challenges.

The CBI is a collaborative effort across the Schools of Science, Engineering, and Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST), government agencies involved in healthcare, and members of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

We welcome thought leaders across the biomedical spectrum - from medical researchers to federal regulators and payers, to experts in finance and marketing - to participate in pre-competitive research and catalyze industry-wide adoption of the resulting solutions.
