General Directions: MIT’s Center for Biomedical Innovation is located at 400 Main Street (Building E19) at the intersection with Ames Street, across from Legal Sea Food. Enter through the glass doors on Main Street. The elevator is located at the top of the stairs. Take elevator to the 6th floor. Make a left upon exiting the elevator. Via Public Transportation (roughly .07 miles from Kendall T-station)
- Take the Red Line to Kendall Square T-stop and exit onto Main Street.
- Walk west on Main Street toward the MIT Coop which will be on your right (if you reach Wadsworth Street or Hayward Street, you are walking in the wrong direction).
- Continue west on Main Street, passing the Kendall Hotel which will be on your left.
400 Main Street (Building E19) is the next building on your left, before your reach Ames Street. Follow “General Directions” above.
Via the Longfellow Bridge / Boston (roughly 2 miles from downtown Boston)
- From the intersection of State and Congress Streets, head north on Congress Street. Just past the Haymarket T-stop, bear right onto New Chardon Street.
- Proceed on New Chardon Street and take a right at the Bowdoin Square / Bowdon T-stop onto Cambridge Street.
- Proceed ½ mile on Cambridge Street. Continue straight through intersection with Charles Street and follow the sign for RT-3N (Cambridge). Do not get on Storrow Drive or take the ramp for the Expressway.
- Continue straight over the Longfellow Bridge. You will pass the Charles Street T-station on your left.
- Once over the Longfellow Bridge, Main Street merges into Broadway Street. Continue through the set of lights and past the Marriot Hotel, which will be on your left.
- After the Marriot Hotel and the parking garage, get in the left lane and turn left at the next set of lights onto Ames Street.
- Proceed one block down Ames Street, take a left onto Main Street,. Follow “General Directions” above.
Via Memorial Drive Eastbound / Cambridge and Massachusetts Avenue / Boston (roughly 1.5 miles from Mass Ave. intersection)
- If coming via Memorial Drive, continue west past signs for Harvard Square, Western Avenue, and Central Square. Stay in left lane and follow “Cars Only” sign under Massachusetts Avenue.
- If coming via Massachusetts Avenue, stay in the right lane and at the intersection just over the bridge, take a right onto Memorial Drive.
- Continue past the boat house and the docks. Follow the signs for Kendall Square and get into the second left-turn lane. Take the left continuing over Memorial Drive West and onto Wadsworth Street,
- After one block, take a left at the intersection onto Amherst Street. At the third block, take a right onto Ames Street.
- Continue on Ames Street until the first intersection with Main Street, then follow “General Directions” above.
Via Massachusetts Avenue / Cambridge (roughly 1 mile from Central Square)
- Continue down Massachusetts Avenue through Central Square for roughly .5 miles.
- At the Quest Diagnostic building, take a left onto Main Street.
- Continue on Main Street past Portland Street and Vassar Street / Galileo Galilei Way to the intersection with Ames Street, then follow the “General Directions” above.
Via I-90 / Mass Turnpike (roughly 3 miles from Exit 18)
- Follow I-90 east to the Cambridge / Brighton Exit 18. Exit 18 exits to the left.
- Pay toll and move to the right lane down the exit ramp. Continue straight onto Cambridge Street, which turns into River Street just over the bridge.
- Continue on River Street for roughly 1 mile and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Follow “Via Massachusetts Avenue / Cambridge (roughly 1 mile from Central Square)” directions above.
