Novartis Joins Center for Biomedical Innovation as Founding Member

(Cambridge MA- September 11, 2006) The MIT Center for Biomedical Innovation (CBI), a collaborative “think and do” tank where academic, industry and government experts work together to transform health care innovation and delivery throughout the world,  announced today that Novartis has become a Founding Member of the Center.

            A world leader in the discovery, development, manufacture and marketing of innovative therapies, Novartis is the seventh company to sponsor CBI’s collaborative efforts to foster innovation within the drug industry.

            “We are pleased to welcome Novartis as a partner in this unique enterprise,” said Frank Douglas, MD, PhD, Executive Director of the Center. “No other academic center seeks to bring about systemic change that works across the entire biomedical value chain. Novartis joins the forward-thinking companies that recognize the importance of our research and our mission.”
