Design and development of MIT's course management system known as "Stellar"
IS&T ISDA 2007-2009
Academic Media Production Services 2003-2007
Faculty Liaison in Academic Computing Services 2000-2003
I joined Information Systems as a Faculty Liaison in Academic Computing Services at the start of 1998, and worked there on Athena and general academic computing support, with a focus on applications of the Web. I became involved in the planning for a true course or learning management service for MIT, which eventually became Stellar.
I arrived as a freshman in the class of 1983, getting S.B. and in 1991 a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, and worked in that department as a Research Associate for several years after that before moving to Academic Computing.
