Teaching

Courses:

  • MIT 16.101x Introduction to Aerodynamics.
Development Team & Instructor, Fall 2013.

Developed course materials, concept questions, assignments, exams, and implemented them in edX. The course materials are freely accessible.

  • MIT 16.90 Computational Methods in Aerospace Engineering.
Development Team & Graduate Teaching Assistant, Fall 2011 - Spring 2012.

Developed new course materials for a shift from lecture-based format to active learning format. New materials included pre-class reading materials, short instructional videos, and the design of in-class activities to realize hands-on learning.

  • Video tutorial for the eigenvalue stability applet:

Video tutorial for the forward Euler method:

Video lesson on convergence of numerical methods:

  • MIT 16.90 Computational Methods in Aerospace Engineering.
    Graduate Teaching Assistant, Spring 2010.

Developed eigenvalue stability applet with Professor Haynes Miller for students of numerical methods.

  • Student Responses - "...an outstanding TA, probably the BEST I have had at MIT. His recitations were not only helpful, but also very original --- he encouraged class participation, brought fun problems. He also explains concepts really well, and uses the board well. I would encourage Chad to teach more in the future."

  • MIT 16.06 Principles of Automatic Control.
    Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, Fall 2006.

UROP Supervision:

  • Higher-order methods for solutions to nonlinear systems of equations, Fall 2008.
MIT Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics
    Faculty Supervisor: Prof. J. Peraire
    Undergraduate: J.B. Parham
