Cambridge is surprisingly rich in vacant lots and waste spaces harboring a surprising variety of wild life. I've been taking pictures, because I'd like to learn to identify most of what can be found locally, and to have something to show for it.

It's currently organised by outing; the index by common names is incomplete, and at some point I'll try to integrate it better. I'm also working on converting between different file naming conventions, since before an iphoto upgrade, a lot of the EXIF data was getting mangled on export.

Great Meadows NWR, Concord, MA, 2003-05-17		6 images
	I spent the day out at Great Meadows, after biking there. I went along the West edge of the water (turn left coming back from the bathroom), which is where these were taken. I spent more of the day playing with my camera's settings and bird watching than hunting wildflowers.

Plum Island, Newburyport, MA, 2003-05-31		8 images
	Monty and I took the commuter rail to Newburyport, then biked to Plum Island for some bird watching. All of these pictures were taken near or on the Hellcat trail; some of my earlier tries had the wrong setting on the camera, and didn't come out.
