On December 4th, 2011, the department and chemical engineering industry lost a dear friend and innovator, Adel F. Sarofim. On Friday, May 11th, 2012, the MIT Chemical Engineering Department will host a Memorial Symposium to remember his career and life. The symposium will include talks from his former students and colleagues.
