The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the global leader of the profession, strives to promote excellence in chemical engineering, to advance the development and exchange of relevant knowledge, and to stimulate collaborative efforts between academic, industrial and government communities. In 1999, the Separations Division initiated a program to recognize the accomplishments of graduate student researchers in the technical sub-areas of the division: adsorption/ion exchange, distillation/absorption, membrane-based separations, extraction, crystallization and fluid-particle separations. The goal of the division is to motivate graduate researchers and their advisors to conduct research that is of both high quality and potentially high impact.
The winning students will be recognized at the Separation Division Awards Dinner at the AIChE Annual Meeting in Austin, TX in November. The prize is a $300 award check and a plaque commemorating the event. In addition, one nominating faculty member per student also receives a plaque.
For details of the award and nomination information, please see the award announcement and nominations solicitation . Nominations are due by August 1, 2004.
