The Department welcomes its newest faculty member: Professor Michael Strano.
Professor Strano comes to us from the University of Illinois, where he has been an assistant professor for four years. His research program in nanotechnology focuses on how to synthesize, characterize and separate carbon nanotubes and ultimately assemble them in to useful systems and devices for specific applications. Professor Strano has been recognized by a number of awards, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and the 2007 ACS Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry Unilever Award for Outstanding Young Investigator in Colloid & Surfactant Science. Prof. Strano also won a Camille Dreyfus Teacher Scholar Award for 2007.
We look forward to working with Professor Strano; his appointment starts September 1st.
