The MIT SBE chapter was started in Fall 2008.  Our activities focus on career development and networking opportunities as well as interactions with faculty members.

  • SBE National Representative Visit

  • Millipore Career Development Talk

  • Shire Networking Talk

    • Shire representative Robin Ng talked to students about the importance of networking and imparted advice on how to use networking to help one’s career.

  • ChemE Exploration with AIChE

    • Freshmen had the opportunity to learn what chemical engineering at MIT has to offer in terms of courses, career paths, and departmental resources through a presentation and Q&A session hosted by current ChemE students.

  • SBE Webinar

  • Samuel Adams Tour

    • Students (21+) toured Samuel Adams Brewery to learn about the applications of biochemical engineering throughout the brewing business.  Students also had the opportunity to sample beer.

  • InviCro Recruiting Event

  • AIChE/SBE Merck Powerpoint Presentation Competition

    • Students presented original research from a UROP, class, or internship to a panel of judges consisting of students, professors, and Merck representatives. Awards were given to the top three presentations.
