Studies of synapse formation and plasticity

We are interested in applying our imaging and proteomic technologies to help unravel the molecular mechanisms of synapse formation and plasticity. For instance, we are using our probe targeting methods to perform single-molecule and super-resolution imaging of synaptic proteins such as the AMPA-type glutamate receptor, neurexin, and neuroligin. We are using protein-protein interaction detection reporters to image synapse formation. We are using proteomic tools to discover unknown components of the synaptic cleft.
