Sparkling Crystals! Dazzling Colors! Dramatic Transformations!
The aim of this IAP course is to provide Freshmen with an opportunity to get "up close and personal" with the chemical phenomena introduced in 5.111/5.112 and 3.091. Interesting and dramatic experiments have been selected to illustrate and reinforce the concepts and principles introduced in the chemistry core lecture courses.

Enrollment is limited to 20 participants per section. Section A will meet January 8-12 (1-5 pm) and January 13 (1-4 pm).
Section B will meet January 16-18 (1-5 pm) and January 19 (1-4 pm).

Relationship of Chemistry 5.301 and 5.302: Chemistry 5.302 is a 3-unit course intended to provide Freshmen with a stimulating and enjoyable "hands-on" experience with chemical phenomena. Chemistry 5.301 is an intense 6-unit, 4-week "crash course" in chemistry laboratory techniques for students interested in undertaking original research in chemistry.

Enrollment in Chemistry 5.302 is limited and requires permission of the Instructor. To apply, submit a completed application form to Dr. Janet Schrenk (4-449A, jschrenk@mit.edu) by Monday, December 4th. After December 4th applications will be accepted on a space available basis. The Application is available in Electronic form.
