Professor Bertini To Hold Office Hours
Professor Ivano Bertini will be holding informal office hours on Thursday, March 6th from 1:30 to 3:00 pm in room 2/321 (The old Wrighton conference room) for those interested postdocs and graduate students. Please stop by and visit him !
Welcome Julie Carlin!
Please stop by Chemistry Headquarters and say hello to Julie Carlin, the new "front desk facilitator!" Julie will be contacting you periodically regarding shut-down and billing of postage and xeroxing. She is looking forward to meeting the faculty, students and other members of the Department and we all welcome her!
New Artwork in Chemistry Headquarters
The artwork from the Chemistry Department photo contest has been framed and decorates the walls in headquarters. We again thank all of those who entered the contest and to the winners: The "MIT Grandbaby", by Marilyn Mason, is hung near Professor Lippard's office; "Icy Twigs" by Becky Carrazza (Virgil group) and two photos by Bing Xi (Swager group) of a "Covered Bridge in Maine" are grouped together nearby; and over by Marc Jones office is "Airborne Balloons at a Patriots Game", also submitted by Becky Carrazza!
Tune-ups for T.A.s - Spring '97
Please plan on attending a TA workshop on Tuesday, March 18th at 3:30 in the Moore Room (6-321) on "Diagnosis and Prognosis: Identifying and Working with Students with Learning Disabilities", and "Getting Mid-term Feedback". Richard Goldhammer, MIT's consultant on learning disabilities, will be the guest speaker. Faculty are invited to join the group at 4:00 p.m., refreshments will be served.
