The Chemistry Department EHS program is administered by the Department
EHS Committee made up of faculty, graduate students, administrative staff,
and the EHS Coordinator. Day to day activities are managed by the EHS
Coordinator in conjunction with each laboratory’s EHS Representative.

The MIT Chemistry Department received the first College
Safety Award of the American Chemical Society Division of Chemical Health
and Safety in recognition of our having the "Most Comprehensive Program of Chemical Laboratory Safety".
