Acrocinus Longimanus

folded from an uncut square
designed by Brian Chan

The long-armed longhorn beetle. No one really knows why the males have such long arms, but they say it must have something to do with courtship. Folded from a frog base. (Dr. Lang's version is made of a frog base with split middle point, mine is made from a plain frog base, with slight asymmetrical usage of the flaps. )

Folded from a square of Japanese foil, painted with black ink and red gouache.
