Dorcus curvidens

During my beetle-keeping phase, I saw pictures of this stag beetle on the internet, and found out that it was one of the more popular species among Japanese collectors. It has a much more rounded form, and (I think) has a very 'cute' appearance as far as insects go. This summer my brother and I saw a pair for sale in a Japanese pet store.

After I designed the Goliath beetle, I found that the base could also be used to fold Dorcus. Because of this, the leg spacings are identical. Instead of making a color change, I split the long corner into antennae, jaws, etc. The good thing about this insect model is that every single appendage comes from the edge of the paper (no middle points); also the spacing (circles, rivers) works out very well (CP to be released later)
