Consortium on Qualitative Research Methods

The Consortium on Qualitative Research Methods (CQRM) holds an annual training institute on qualitative research methods. The next institute will be held at Arizona State University, January 3-13 2006. Information is provided at

MIT, as a member institution, can select one student or junior faculty member to attend the institute. Students who wish to apply for MIT selection must contact Susan Twarog, Department of Political Science, E53-467 tel (617) 253-8336, twarog@mit.edu no later than Monday, October 3, 2005. Students, fellows and junior faculty members not so selected, or who attend non-member organizations, may apply directly to CQRM. These applications must be received by Thursday, October 20, 2005. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday, November 11, 2005. CQRM will cover the costs of tuition, lodging, and meals for successful applicants. Student attendees will be responsible for their own transportation costs to and from Arizona State University.

MIT graduate students accepted either through MIT or direct through CQRM may request reimbursement from CIS for up to $250 in travel costs. Expenses will be reimbursed after the training institute on presentation of receipts for airfare and any other travel expenses. Please submit the request for reimbursement to the CIS Executive Director.
