We took at trip with Heidi's mom to GyeongJu to see some more historic type sites.

The first one was a famous Buddhist temple. Heidi doesn't let me take pictures of Buddhist things because we are
Christian and have no interest in them, but I took this one to show how commercial/touristy their temples have become. Here's
a ticket booth to buy tickets for something right inside the temple walls! Actually, there's a picture of George Bush there
too when he toured Korea with some other important people not too long ago (for APEC, I think).
The main temple room itself was interesting. We weren't allowed to take pictures there or go in it without taking off our
shoes, but there was a lady sitting at a desk there talking on her cell phone. A sign told how if you gave money, they would
put your name on a piece of paper and Buddha would pray for you or something (a dead man? What good it that?). I thought the
cell phone in a 500 year old temple was interesting.

Here's a door ornament. I guess it was to scare away enemies!

Heidi under an interesting twisty tree in the courtyard.

Colin and Mrs. Kang in the courtyard outside of the temple walls.

Here's the Chinese character for Buddhism (not the circle, the other one!) -- every time I see it I think it's a Swastika,
until I realize that it's backwards!

Now we're in a museum. Actually, we got there 15 minutes before closing, so we didn't have much time to look around! These
are some old tools. Pliers.

I'm not sure what it is, but it looked interesting!

Now we're in a garden/conservatory type place.

This is a neat mini model of ones of the houses.

The garden area used to be a breeding ground for rare plants and animals.

Some trees...

We saw cute little turtles....

Fish that would come up out of the water to eat stuff off of the lilly pads...

A little chipmunk (Heid scared him, so he's trying to run here)

A little waterfall was there.

Now we're in a park of old above-ground tombs. They look like hills, actually.

A sunset in the tomb park.
