South Korea: Seoul, day 4

(modified 6/17/06)

Day 4 in Seoul, South Korea!

Day 1      Day 2      Day 3      Day 4

The living room at Heidi's aunt's house. Heidi's uncle was quite a wealthy man before he died suddenly several years ago, leaving several of these extremely expensive apartments in the middle of Seoul.

Another view with the dining room in the background.

Our bedroom was quite spacious.

Another bedroom.

Us with Heidi's aunt.

The church that many of Heidi's relatives attend is almost finished being built here.

Now we're on our way to YeoEuiDo Full Gospel Church, the largest church in the world! The sanctuary holds about 10,000 people, and they have 7 services on sundays! This is some of the traffic jam for parking at the church!

More traffic...

Here, we saw about 50 tour buses loaded with people coming in! We street is lined with double parked cars, and ours was on the inside, so we had to wait until after lunch to get out!

Here is Colin with King Se Jeong, the inventor of the Korean alphabet. The original letters are shown in a box on my left, although a few of them are not in use anymore.

Here's part of the financial district in Seoul. Many banks are lined up for action.

Now we're at Yonsei University in Seoul with Heidi's old highschool friend, ChaeRyu.

Here we are at a statue of Mr. Underwood, one of the first late 1800's missionaries to Korea.

Heidi and ChaeRyu.

Here we are on the KTX train back to Busan! Lots of farm land passing by.
