In 2001, the Picower Foundation endowed the Picower Center for Learning and Memory with a largest single gift from a private foundation in the history of MIT. The gift will fund a new state-of-the-art building, four endowed Picower Professorships and the Picower Endowment for Research and Operations, all dedicated to the Picower Center for Learning and Memory. This remarkable gift will enormously enrich and expand the neuroscience and educational programs at MIT and gives much needed financial stability to the Picower Center.
