Federico Carballo - Compass Group
 | Entrepreneurship teaches you that you need to walk fast and think fast
 | It is important to choose your partners appropriately
 | We see corruption as a problem of the public sector, but in reality, corruption in the private sector is outstanding!
And on top…. Banks don’t lend to small and medium size businesses.
 | In conclusion, Latin American entrepreneurs do not face the right incentives, the system needs to stabilize and
there are several policies that can foster development an Entrepreneurial culture in Latin America.
 | Chile again, is in entrepreneurship, the best country to conduct businesses in Latin America, followed by Mexico
that has been thoroughly benefited from NAFTA |
 | Quote: “I am homesick for a country in which I have never lived before”.
Marilia Rocca - Endeavor
 | Quote: “Why do we discuss entrepreneurship in this conference?”
 | It is all about “JOBS” and not only jobs, but “GOOD JOBS” and entrepreneurship offers “JOBS WITH A FUTURE”
 | Brazil is the 6th ranked country with more entrepreneurs.
 | 98% of jobs came from small and medium companies and 96% of jobs came from “new companies”
 | But not all the news are good news…. Many of the Brazilian entrepreneurs find themselves in the need of being so,
because of the lack of jobs in the economy, rather than because of a freedom to do so.
 | Entrepreneurs in the U.S. are seen as heroes, however in Brazil and L.A, are seen as people with “Three
wives and three undeclared bank accounts” (meaning no heros) |
 | Endeavor helps entrepreneurs in several dimensions, such as negotiation with investors, and the success stories
are plenty. |
 | Some companies have revenues of over 3 million dollars, without having to recur to investors! And this makes us
reflect…“Start small, think big”
 | Questions asked to Endeavor in Brazil: Why are you helping entrepreneurs, when you are a nonprofit
organization? Endeavor answer: HELLO!!! I am creating jobs!!! | |
