Mr. Federico Carballo

Biography

Mr. Carballo joined Compass in 1997 as a partner. He is in charge of the alternative assets unit of Compass, with responsibility for devising and directing the overall investment strategy of the Compass Capital Fund L.P., a private equity fund raised in 1998 to invest in Latin America. Mr. Carballo also co-heads the Asset Management unit of Compass, with responsibilities for the overall fixed income strategies of the firm (approx. 500 million). Mr. Carballo has more than 15 years of professional experience. He was previously a Managing Director of Citicorp Securities Inc. where he headed the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Trading Unit for the bank and managed its refinancing portfolio. Before joining Citibank, Mr. Carballo was a management consultant with Booz-Allen & Hamilton in Madrid, Spain. Prior to obtaining his master's degree, Mr. Carballo worked as an associate at Gonzalez Fraga Macroeconomia, an Argentine economics management consulting firm.

Mr. Carballo holds an MS in finance from MIT's Sloan School of Management and a BS in Economics from the Argentine Catholic University.
