Mr. Fernando Xavier Ferreira

Biography
Mr. Ferreira was born in Ponta Grossa, Paraná State, in 1949. He has a Bachelor degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1971). In 1982, he graduated from the Management Training Course at the Western Ontario University Business School.

Currently, he is the CEO of Telefonica Group in Brazil. Mr. Ferreira is also member of both the Latin-American committee of the New York Stock (NYSE) and the National Council for Economic and Social Development (CDES).

Previously to his current assignments, Mr. Ferreira has served as: CEO of Telecomunicações Brasileiras (Telebrás); Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Ministry of Communications; CEO of Northern Telecom do Brasil; General Brazilian Director of Itaipu Binacional; CEO of Telepar; and Professor of the Microwaves chair at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).
