Conference Panels:
The conference is structured in FIVE distinctive modules. In each module, every speaker will have 20 to 25 minutes to present his or her experiences followed by a Q&A session. These ideas will lead to the conclusion panel Latin America in the New Global Order:

Keynotes:

bulletDr. Jamil Mahuad opened the conference referencing to the task of balancing expectations as politician with economic reality
bulletDr. Vittorio Corbo closed the conference with a thorough analysis of the vision of a Central banker of the region and the way to take
it out of recession

The first module will focus on Financial Markets in Latin America and will address issues such as:

bulletHow are the financial markets evolving in the region?
bulletHow are our financial institutions compared with those of the rest of the world
bulletWhat challenges are there for financial markets in Latin America in the future
bulletCould our financial markets become a competitive advantage for the region?

The second module will focus on Assessing the future of our region:
bulletHow is the face of Latin America going to be changed by the latest global events?
bulletWhat are our governments doing to adapt to these changes?
bulletMore importantly, what is not being done?
bulletAs students, how can we contribute to this future?

The third module will focus on Entrepreneurship in Latin America:

bulletWhat factors could improve the likelihood of success?
bulletHow Latin American students could adapt the concepts learned in the US for enterprises in our countries of origin?

The fourth module will focus on Competing Globally:

bulletWhat are the key competences we have to achieve in order to be a relevant player throughout Latin America and the rest of the world?
bulletWhat opportunities and threats arise with the development of trade agreements?

The fifth module will focus on Approaching the consumer market:
bulletWhat is happening with the internal markets in Latin America?
bulletHow can they be improved? Where is the improvement going to come from?
bulletConsumers have choices today (US, Europe, China). How is this going to change the competitive landscape for consumers in the region?
