When reading threads on fuckedcompany.com, I was continually referred
to escrew.com, which was touted to be "just the same, but with
more topics." Intrigued, I followed up on this, expecting there
to be an interesting relationship between two competing sites devoted
to dead dot coms. In the end, I'm sure there is, and I would be writing
about that very thing right now if, in fact, escrew.com had anything
at all to do with the dot com deadpool. Unfortunately for you, dear
reader, it doesn't.
Unfortunately, escrew.com is little more than a random sampling of
directionless flame; a multi-topic messageboard that tries to unite
the topics under the auspices of how badly they screw you. I posted
a few single sentence threads about napster, dubya, and Monkeybone.
Even doing that was unfulfilling. Sadly, the most interesting part
of the session is registering as a user and choosing a posting signature.
In addition, each topic of discussion almost invariably degenerates
to a mudslinging barrage of "your mom's a slut" and "suck
my dick, honkie!" posts. For a while, the most interesting thread
was the slapping match between the respective moderators of escrew.com
and fuckedcompany.com over which site is more interesting.
Clearly, however, FC is, if only by sheer volume of users. Poor escrew
has a total of approximately 60 registered posters, only about 4 of
which are online at any given time, and there are only about 5 consistent
posters who actually provide the majority of the content. FC, however,
has hundreds of users, a more interesting basis (because flame messageboards
are a dime a dozen these days, you need a hook), and a t-shirt
line.
Hardly a difficult choice!
