This site is a large collection of commentary, news and analysis of the current entertainment and show-biz industry. At first glance the front page may seem a little overwhelming with the amount of text and clutter and menus. Although the color scheme is not flashy and brightly colored as one might expect of a site that deals with modern day entertainment and show-biz, the simple color-scheme of green and white simplify it and acts as a relief from the massive amounts of information. The site does it's job well. All the most current and up to date news of entertainment is there. One aspect that I really liked was the pull down menus at the top of every page of the entire site, it makes it easier to see what there is on the site, rather than feeling lost and not knowing where to go when there's so much to look at.

Though I am not an up to date reader of entertainment news, I could see how this would be important to people who are and need this kind of information for their daily living. But when you really think about it, is it really all necessary? What will happen to us if we don't have the most up to date information on the award winning movie or what happened to our favorite movie star. The fact is nothing will happen, but we think we will be out of the loop and to some that is an unspeakable disaster. If you ask me it's a bit of a compulsion to want to know the most up to date news and information all the time every day, and this kind of site feeds to that making it a possibly vicious cycle for some. If that is the intention of variety.com, then it's a job well done.
