Electrical-field Controlled Bio-membranes for Efficient Water Desalination

Evelyn Wang, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering

This research seeks to expand knowledge of the fundamental mechanics and transport properties of lipid bilayers under electric fields with the eventual goal of developing a lipid based bio-membrane that could be actively controlled and tuned for various applications, e.g., molecular filtration, drug delivery, and water treatment or desalination.
