Please join MIT Community Innovators Lab and the Department of Urban Studies and Planning's Students of Color Committee for an discussion on the tipped minimum wage campaign with Saru Jayaraman, the co-director and co-founder of the Restaurant Opportunities Center United, and director of the Food Labor Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley. Jayaraman will discuss the campaign to raise the tipped minimum wage from its 30-year fixed rate of $2.13, and the work dynamics of the food service industry, which she has researched in her recent book Behind the Kitchen Door .
