Special needs

Guest seating

For guests with disabilities, there will be a designated seating section at the Commencement Exercises. If someone in your family needs to sit in this section or requires special assistance, please contact the Disabilities Services Office at 617-253-1674, TTY 617-253-3194, or email dso-www@mit.edu. Seating in this section will be by reservation only, and special tickets (for up to four guests) will be issued instead of the standard tickets. Please refer to our guest FAQ for more information. Arrangements must be made through the Disabilities Services Office by Friday, May 16.

Student disabilities services

If you are a degree candidate with either a disability or a medical situation that would prevent you from assembling in the Johnson Athletics Center second floor and processing to Killian Court, please call Julie Norman at 617-253-7411 or email jbnorman@mit.edu by Friday, May 30 so that arrangements can be made.

Doctoral degree candidates who require disability arrangements for the Hooding ceremony should please email Traci Swartz at tswartz@mit.edu by Friday, May 30.

There will be American Sign Language interpretation of the opening/closing remarks and speeches of the Commencement Exercises and the opening/closing remarks of the Hooding Ceremony.
